  • Who:
    3rd, 4th, & 5th Grade Boys & Girls
     
  • Price:
    Each student who makes the team will owe $35 for the Entry fees to the meets, T-shirt, and the party at the end of the season. This isn’t due until after student makes the team.
     
  • Events:
    50m dash, 100m dash, 200m dash, 400m dash, 800m dash, long jump, softball throw, & Shot Put (5th Grade boys only).
     
  • Time:

    Practice will take place in the afternoons from 3:00 - 4:00 during the last part of March through April.
    3rd Grade will practice Monday, 3:00pm - 4:00pm
    4th Grade will practice Tuesday, 3:00pm - 4:00pm
    (Something will be worked out for students who make the team and have tutoring on this day).
    5th Grade will practice Wednesday, 3:00pm - 4:00pm

  • Tutoring:
    Students may still participate if they have tutoring or other activities going on during the spring.
    “Students and Parents must be able to commit to the dates of the meets and be able to attend.”

  • Tryouts:
    Students must commit to being at practice and being able to attend the meets. We do not want students taking spots from other students that would be able to attend. Timed events, along with classroom behavior, and grades will determine who makes the team.
    The CES Interscholastic Parent Consent and Agreement FormConcussion Form, and the Preparticipation Physical Evaluation Form must be completed and turned into Coach Crowder before a student is allowed to participate in the tryouts. These forms can be found under the "Forms" menu on the right. 
    “Students who do not get these forms turned in before tryouts will not be allowed to tryout”

  • Transportation:
    Track practice will be immediately after school. Each student will be expected to be picked up after practice at 4:00pm, or they will be sent to CES Aftercare (parents will be responsible for the regular hourly rate). Parents are also responsible for taking their child to and from the track meets as well as supervising them while they are there.

  • Meets:
    Admission for parents at the meets are $2.00

  • Chickamauga Elementary offers a Chorus program for students in 4th and 5th grade.

  • Students have the opportunity to develop their vocal skills while learning the value of teamwork, dedication, and musical expression.

  • Each December, the chorus presents a highly anticipated Christmas program that has become a cherished tradition for our school and community.

 

  • CES has a strong Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) program. Members of FCA come together to build friendships, encourage one another, and grow in character, leadership, and faith.

  • What is VEX?

    Vex is designed to help teach the students life and job skills.  Students work on stem projects to develop skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, design, programming, innovation, and more. They learn to use three styles of coding including block base programming, python, and C++.  The vex robotics team members are learning computational thinking skills that they will need to be competitive, successful, and leaders in the 21st century workforce.
     
  • How do I join?

    Tryouts are held at the beginning of each school year, and is only available to 4th and 5th grade students.
